Fun Fact Corner!
Did you know that as of December 2023, there were 142 million AI voice assistant users in the United States?
That’s almost half the country!
Plus, according to the New Jersey Institute of Technology, many people feel connected to the personality of their AI voice assistant—almost like having a helpful friend in their device!
Beyond the Podcast: Fun Experiments to Try at Home!
Experiment 1: Test Your Wake Word!
Try saying "Hey Siri" or "Alexa" in different tones or from different distances.
Does your voice assistant respond every time? How close do you need to be?
Experiment 2: Smart Home Control!
If you have a smart speaker connected to a device, try using voice commands to turn something on or off.
Test different commands—what works and what doesn’t?
Experiment 3: How Do Speakers Work?
Place a piece of paper near a speaker playing sound at a low volume.
Slowly increase the volume and watch what happens to the paper!
That’s how sound waves work—they move air to create what we hear!
