What We Explored in This Episode:
How AI might replace some jobs through automation
How AI can also create brand new jobs through augmentation
What kinds of work AI is good at
What humans do better than AI
Why Imagineers are the ultimate mix of creativity and technology
🛠️ Automation vs. Augmentation
Some jobs will be replaced by AI—that’s called automation.
For example:
Scanning groceries
Data entry
Basic customer service
But there’s also augmentation, which means AI is used to help people do their jobs better. That’s like using a scooter instead of walking—it gets you there faster!
Experts say that while AI might replace 85 million jobs, it could also create 97 million new ones. So we’re not losing—we’re just shifting!
💼 What Jobs Might AI Do in the Future?
AI is great at:
Doing the same task over and over (without getting tired)
Sorting and analyzing tons of data
Spotting patterns really fast
Helping doctors look at medical images
Answering simple questions in chats
But it’s not great at:
Understanding feelings
Telling amazing stories
Coming up with creative ideas
Caring for others
Those are things only humans do really well. And that’s why we’ll always need people in jobs like teaching, art, therapy, and science.

🎨 Design Your Future Job
Use your imagination to invent a job you’d love to have someday.
Now think: how could AI help you in that job?
Draw your workspace and your AI assistant. What’s their name? What do they do to help you?
🎢 Build Your Own Imagineer Ride
Grab paper, LEGOs, or anything else and design your own ride.
What’s the story behind it? How does technology bring it to life?
Would AI play a part in how it works?
